I received a scan of the following obit from a kind person on the Blair
County, Pa, list, and have transcribed it. Can anyone identify the W.I.
WERTZ that Ms. Simmons daughter is married to?

Mrs. Julia A Simmons
Altoona Mirror, 10/19 & 10/20/1939

Died this morning at 1:15 o'clock at the home of her son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. W.I. WERTZ, 1218 North Cambria Street, Bellwood, of a
consolidation of ailiments after an extended illness. Mrs. Simmons was born
on Sept 30, 1851, at Shrewsbury, Pa, a daughter of George K. and Rebecca
Small. She was married on July 5, 1882, to William H. Simmons, deceased.
Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Anna Wertz, at whose home she died. Mrs.
Simmons was the last member of her immediate family and a member of St.
Paul's Lutheran Church, New Cumberland, Pa. The body may be viewed at the
Wertz home after 7 o'clock this evening.


Simmons - Funeral Services for Mrs. Julia A. Simmons Will be conducted on
Friday night, at 7:30 o'clcok at the Wertz home, 1218 North Cambria Street,
Bellwood, in charge of Rev. J? P. Knoebel, pastor of the Bellwood Lutheran
Church. The body will be taken to New Cumberland, Pa, for burial.
