Mrs. Mary Rebecca BYERS, 62, widow of the late Hugh A. BYERS, died at 3:40
p.m., Friday, October 25, 1935, in her home, 517 Grant street, McDonald.
She has been in failing health for a year or more. She was born June 3,
1873, in Midway, this county, the daughter of Dr. A. C. and the late Mary
LINDSEY STEVENSON. Mrs. BYERS had been a resident of McDonald the greater
part of her life. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian church
of McDonald.
She is survived by two sons and four daughters: Edwin H. BYERS of
Jefferson, Greene county; Richard V. BYERS of McDonald, Margaretta, the wife
of Walter W. MURRAY of New Kensington; Helen, the wife of Ralph R. OLDHAM of
Bridgeport, Ohio; Mary, the wife of Dr. Louis J. MURPHY of Fostoria, Ohio;
and Edna LaVerne, at home; her father, Dr. A. C. STEVENSON of Oakdale, one
sister, Mrs. Lydia STILLEY of Pittsburgh, and three brothers; Dr. E. H.
STEVENSON of Pittsburgh, Dr. A. Swope STEVENSON of Bedford, and William
STEVENSON of Tucson, Ariz. There are nice grandchildren. Miss Margaret
LINDSEY is an aunt.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the First United
Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. S. A. MCCOLLAM. Burial was in
Robinson's Run cemetery.
