William BRICE, Jr., left on Tuesday for a business trip to Huntingdon and
other points.

Albert BRICE of Cumberland, Md., spent a few days this week visiting his
parents here.

Ross MOORE fell from a load of fodder which he was hauling near town on
Saturday and fractured the bones of his left leg.

Miss Stella MERVINE, who has been visiting relatives in Bedford, left on
Tuesday for Mt. Union. She will later return to her home in California.

Blain SMITH shot a wild turkey on the ball grounds on Friday of last week,
after the bird had winged its way over Bedford. It weighed twelve pounds.

Lawrence GILCHRIST, who spent Thanksgiving with his parents in Bedford,
returned to Akron, Ohio, on Sunday, where he is employed in the Goodrich
Rubber Company's plant.

The Hon. John H. JORDAN left on Monday for Pittsburgh where he is attending
the sessions of the United States court.

Culp METZGER returned to St. John's Military academy, Annapolis, Md., on
Monday, after spending his Thanksgiving vacation at his home in Bedford.

Joshua PIERSON known to the readers of this newspaper as the author of the
interesting letters from Wolfsburg, was a Bedford visitor this week.

William WEISEL and family have been spending the past week as the guests of
Mr. WEISEL's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abram WEISEL. They will remain there
until the holidays.

Henderson POINTS left on Tuesday for Pittsburg, where he has accepted a
position with a manufacturer of pressed steel. Mrs. POINTS will leave
tomorrow to join him and the couple will reside permanently in the Smoky
City.

The walls of the fourth story of the new Fort Bedford hotel are now nearing
completion and the work of putting the building under roof is already
started. It is expected that the structure will be under roof by Dec. 15.

Through the kindness of H. C. HECKERMAN, the Rev. and Mrs. J. A. EYLER and
children, Miss Margaret PEPPLE and Mrs. W. E. SHOEMAKER made a trip to
Lancaster, over the Lincoln Highway, on Wednesday, on Wednesday of last
week. They returned to Bedford on Friday.

The Rev. Albert AUNE of St. James' Episcopal church has been called to
Philadelphia to conduct a mission for one of the large Episcopal churches in
that city, and will remain in Philadelphia during the coming two weeks. His
place will be filled on Sunday by the Rev. George A. ZELLER of Lancaster,
Pa.
