Elaine,
I would say chances are not so good, but possible. I have been looking
through 1907 - 1908 newspapers for Indiana Co. and found a few Anniversary
notices. It seemed to depend sometimes on who you were in society. Sometimes
there was a write up about the event, other times it may just be listed
under "Points on People" which just highlighted who was in town and
sometimes why someone was in town.
I would think that if the couple lived their entire life in the same
location and were married 50 years there may be news of it. The hard part
is going through the paper to find the notices. I borrow the papers on
microfilm from the PA State Library through interlibrary loan. You can
