The remains of David D. Mock, son of Philip Mock, of near Cessna, were
buried in the Fishertown cemetery on Wednesday. He died in the Jefferson
Hospital on Monday following an operation for appendicitis. Mr. Mock was 28
years old and was married to Miss Frances Blattenberger, of this place, who
with one child survives him. They lived at Salemville in 1902.

Elizabeth Chamberlain, of Everett, wife of L. D. Chamberlain, died Tuesday
morning of last week, April 12th, aged 47 years, 10 months and 25 days. She
was a daughter of the late Baltzer and Sarah Fletcher, and was born at the
old homestead near Chapman's Run, in Monroe township. Deceased was a
teacher in the public schools of the county when she was a young woman.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 1.30 o'clock at her late home.
Interment in Union graveyard at Clearville.

On Friday last Jacob Cogan, a young man about 20 years old, who was employed
on John Clark's lath mill, on Clear Ridge, south of Everett, met with a
distressing accident, and one which will disable him to a greater or less
extent all his life. The young man was engaged at his work as usual, and
while sawing a lath got his right hand too near the moving machinery and
that member came in contact with the saw, severing the first three fingers
and injuring the index finger and thumb. Dr. Hunt, of Clearville, was
summoned and rendered the necessary aid. Mr. Cogan will not be able to do
manual labor for some time to come. He is a son of the late William Cogan,
and a nephew of Sheriff Henry W. Cogan, of Bedford.--Everett Republican.

Tuesday afternoon of last week Mr. Chester S. Amos and Miss Bertha V. Boor,
were united in marriage at the home of the bride in Bedford. The groom is a
son of the late Josiah Amos.

David Mock of near Cessna, a young farmer aged about 28 years, became ill
with appendicitis Thursday, April 7th, and was taken to a Philadelphia
hospital where an operation was performed. He died on Monday night
following and his remains were taken to Bedford on Tuesday and from there to
his home. Four years ago he was married to Miss Frances Blattenberger, who,
with a three-year-old daughter, survives. Deceased was a son of Philip
Mock, of near St. Clairsville.

Michael Earnest, of Bedford township, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
Philip Beegle, Saturday, April 9th, aged about 60 years. The funeral
occurred the following Monday morning at Mt. Smith.

William Newman, of Mann's Choice, died in Pittsburg Wednesday night of last
week, of typhoid pneumonia. He was about 22 years old. Mr. Newman was
employed at Pittsburg as a telegraph operator. His body was taken to Mann's
Choice for interment.

Mrs. Sarah A. Fletcher, wife of Shanon Fletcher, died at her home near
Chalybeate Springs, Bedford, Thursday of last week aged 58 years. She was a
sufferer for seven years.
