I agree with Michele. I almost deleted this message also, but I have an
ancestor named Conn O'Neal. Otherwise I would have deleted the message.
And, I too have seen all the discussions in the past explaining why a
handful of people don't want to place pabedford in the subject line and
I don't agree with their arguments.

As virus threats grow we all have to be more careful about the mail we
open. We become dependent on message headers to help us sift through our
mail and delete potential threats.
If list members are concerned about header content then they have an
obligation to train new list members in their wishes, versus imposing a
potential virus threat on all members of the list.

I belong to over 30 lists, 29 of which have appropriate headers. I know
I get ALL the mail from my other lists. But I sometimes wonder how many
messages from this list I miss because I've deleted them unread on
account of the message header not providing me with the details I need
to feel that I am getting a secure message.

I suppose I'm probably wasting my time, and other listmembers time as
well by sending this message, but feel the need as a contributing member
of the list to express my concerns.
Just think for a moment, if we add pabedford to the list, and train our
members how to use subject text, we eliminate virus threats, make our
members more comfortable, get our messages across and don't have to deal
with these discussions any longer. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.

I can't tell you how many Bedford emails I've trashed unopened due to spam concerns because they're not identifiable as such (and I'll bet I'm not the only one). Thankfully, most other lists don't have this problem, because you can identify them immediately (PABLAIR, PASCHUYL, etc.). I feel as though I might as well unsubscribe, since I'm not getting the messages in an identifiable manner. I've seen other posts on this subject on this board, and they've been dismissed as well over the last couple of years. Will this situation ever be adequately addressed?
