Subject: [PABEDFOR] ROSE murder-suicide 1905
Date: Fri, 05 Oct 2007 08:53:57 -0400

I found a newspaper clipping from the Washington Post, dated May 10, 1905,
which talks about the murder-suicide of Harvey ROSE and his wife, who were
living in Black Valley at the time of the incident.

According to the article, Harvey was jealous of the attentions paid to his wife
by another man who worked at a nearby sawmill. As found, it appeared that
Mr. Rose shot his wife twice in the head while she was asleep in bed, then hung
himself in their smokehouse.

Bob - had you heard of this before? Mrs. Rose is not named, other than "Mrs. Rose"
and I was wondering if you, or any other researcher,?knew who she was.

Harvey was reported to have had a brother who also hung himself several years
earlier in Cumberland Valley. Does anybody know who this would have been?

Thanks,
Jerry
