Don, that is basically correct--I think what you wrote above agrees, rather
than disagrees, with I quoted from Shirley Riemer's book. It does (or did
originally) have to do with the elavation of the land--and you are right that
they were ALL Dutch! There was not the distinction that there is today of
meaning someone from Holland.
