Subject: [PABERKS] NICHOLAS K. SEITZINGER CENSUS LOOKUP
Date: Wed, 20 Jun 2001 09:57:53 -0400

I am looking for evidence of death (date and location) of Nicholas K. Seitzinger, b. 1801, son of George and Catherine Kantner, m. Mary Haas, April 18, 1824 in Reading PA. Children include Catherine, b. 1825, Anna Maria, b. 1827, Amos and Lewis (twins)b. 1829, George Alberd, b. 1831, Charles Hamilton, b. 1834, Charles, b. 1837, Julia, b. 1839 (my Ggrandmother).

Can not find Nicholas K. as head of household on 1850 or 1860 PA Census (Berks or Schulykill Counties). Family moved to IL in early 1850's, he is not listed on the 1860 IL Census with the rest of the family. A Nicholas K. Seitzinger is listed in the Philadelphia City Directory as being a blacksmith in 1849 and again in 1853.

Have not found evidence of his death in IL. Will and estate papers of his father, George, show that he was in Schulykill County during the administration of his father's will. Have papers signed by him in Nov. and Dec. of 1862 and in March of 1863 and he was listed as a recipient of money when the will was settled and the monies disbursed to George's children and/or their heirs in November of 1865.

Could SKS check the 1850 and 1860 census to find Nicholas, perhaps living with his father George or his sister Maria Davis (widow), another sister, Catharine Strunk (John), another sister, Harriet Moll (Henry), another sister, Louisa Reed (Israel), another sister Eliza Hartman (Charles) and also any death records for Berks/Schuylkill Counties for his death.

Please e-mail me privately if anyone finds any record of Nicholas' death in PA and/or a PA census listing of him living with someone else. Maybe someone has run across his name in their research and couldn't connect him as his family was in IL.

Thanks for any help with this dilemma.
