My hometown in Hill County, central Texas, is named Aquilla
also. During my days in school 1926-1938 the population of the town was
about 200. It is smaller now as old families died or moved away, but the
school still is open and students are bussed from surrounding farms and
about 25 families live in the town. Yes, the word means eagle, and I of
course knew it was a man's name in the Bible but had never heard it used as
a girl's name----so the discussion caught my interest.
