Marie,

There are 2 DeTurck cemeteries on Oley Twp. Your Catharina is buried in
the one that is located as follows: From Rt. 73 .4 mile east of
Friedensburg Rd., Oley, right on DeTurk Rd. 1/4 mile, then right on
private road to first farm on left. Site on edge of field about 50 yards
west of barn or in line with a utility pole behind the vo-tech school.
History: Isaac DeTurck, a Huguenot fugitive, married Mrs. Maria
(Harcourt) Weimer. This site could be a forerunner to Frieden' church
cemetery.

The Deturk, Weiser, and Levan families are old and well-documented Berks
County names. I wish I could say that I descend from any one of them.
There are volumes of info. out there on them, however.
