A quick look...here's one prior to the Revolutionary War.

Emigrants to Pennsylvania- 1641-1819--Michael Tepper

"Accout of servants bound and assigned befor James Hamilton,
Mayor of Philadelphia"

Aug 25th 1746

Nathaniel Ambler assigns Thomas Dillon [a servant from
Ireland in the snow George] to Benjamin Gilbert of Bucks
County yeoman, for five years from August 2nd 1746.
Consideration 16 pounds: customary dues
