Subject: [PABERKS] STROHECKER's in Reading
Date: Wed, 4 Jun 2003 08:23:13 -0700 (PDT)
I have a Godleib STROHECKER and wife Wilhelmina Rosina (SCHROEDER) in Reading in 1760. They appear in the Trinity Lutheran Baptism records as sponsors for John Adam,s/ John Adam and Anna Marie (nee STROHECKER) WUERTTEMBERGER, ON 22 Feb 1760.
On 2 Feb 1761 they have a baptism, for Rosina, with a Catherina STOEKERIN, single as sponsor.
In the Lutheran Trinity~Reading marriage book there is a record dated 1Jan1783 for Ludwig HASSE, sergant of a Penn. Regiment, and Eva STROHECKERIN. Later on 25 July1791 there is a record for Eva HAAS, widow, of Gottleib STROHECKER, Reading, and Isaac PRITIUS( BRITZIUS), s/o Adam, Lancaster.
I would like to know if someone can help with the events above and clarify just how Gottleib(Godleib) and Wilhelmina relates to Anna Marie and Catharina. I see a Catherina STROHECKER in Charleston SC in 1800, which I beleive to be the same person. In South Carolina there is a Jacob STROHECKER in 1753 , found in the Land Grants records, in which he receives a grant for 350 acres near Charleston. I believe Jacob to be Catherina's father, considering what little age related I am able to gather.
Also is Eva the same as Rosina? Does anyone have any thing on the HAASE and BRITZIUS families? Or where Eva and Isaac went after being married? What happened to Ludwig?
I would be glad to hear from anyone about the fore mentioned families. I do have some records and am willing to share any data which one may need.
