My family is also what they call Pennsylvania Dutch (German). My dad's
family were some of the first settlers in what is now Berks Co. Pa. I have
not had John Cope's dried sweet corn in many years. I was born and raised
in Pa. and we had the dried corn always at Christmas and either pork chops
or pork roast and saurekraut for New Years. My grandparents used many of
the old german customs in their home and many are still carried on by my
family today.
