There is a book called "German Maps & Facts for Genealogy" by Wendy K.
Uncapher and Linda Herrick. It will definitely give you the regions over
time from the 1600s forward. It is not that great on locating given
communities within these timeframes. I bought my copy at the Masthof
Bookstore in Morgantown, PA when I was there. Their website is:
