Unless you're sure or have strong lead to a Hessial, also, just in
case, check into the CORYELL family, not very far away from the place
that Janet mentions.
Emmanuel Coryell, early owner of "Coryell's Ferry," which is where
New Hope (PA) and Lambertville NJ are now.
Here's one little blurb for a start:

Also, 'Carel' or 'Karel' has been known as a given name (male) --it
could be very old Swedish or similar; check for a patronymic if you
can't find an immigrant ancestor.
Also check in Maryland.

Philip's first name may have been Johan or Johannes. His nine children were John born 1798, Mary, Margaret, Joseph, Anthony Wayne born 1806, Catherine, Henry, Jane and Philip Jr. born about 1812. Wife's name was Mary. The family had moved to western PA before 1806 where Anthony Wayne was born. He is said to have been named after his father's "army buddy" General Anthony Wayne, who I understand maintained a home in Chester County. Philip's father may have been a Hessian soldier or POW who stayed here. Any input greatly appreciated.
