Colebrookdale is near the county line between Berks and Montgomery Co's
in PA. Colonial records of people connected with Colebrookdale are
sometimes found at Montgomery Co churches like Goshenhoppen and Old
Goshenhoppen Reformed Congregation in Upper Salford Twp in Montgomery
Co. I found the following from Montgomery and Berks:
A Johann Georg SPRINGER, a smith, single son of Peter SPRINGER from
Donegal Twp, m. 14 Dec 1756 Catharina MERKEL, single dau. of Nicholaus
MERKEL, per transcribed records of Rev. Tobias WAGNER at Moselem Church
[Evangelical Lutheran] in Richmond Twp, Berks Co PA [available at the
Berks Co Geneal Socy].
A John SPRINGER appears during the Am. Rev. in Capt. HEYN's Company
on 24 Nov 1780, in 4th Class, (see DOTTERER p. 338R, below).
A Jacob MUTH shows as buying a cow 9 Mar 1759 from David SHULTZE,
recorded in Shultze's journal (as reported by Henry S. DOTTERER,
editor, The Perkiomen Region, Past and Present, pubd 1894-1901,
republished 1994 Adams Apple Press, pp. 386L & 395L). [SHULTZE lived in
Upper Hanover Twp which is now in Montgomery Co.]
Old Goshenhoppen records to 1788 show marriages of several LEH family
but not Henry (per Charlotte Meldrum's Marriages & Deaths of
Montgomery County PA 1685-1800), although he shows up at that church as
Joh. Henrich LEH b. 6 Dec 1767, father Joh., mother not given, per John
T. Humphrey's PA Births: Montgomery Co. 1682-1800, p. 274.
