Hi rooters,
I am Trudi Edelman, a new subscriber, and I am researching Edelman,
Edelmann and Eddleman for myself and for subscribers of our Eddleman
Discussion List. Visit the Eddleman Genealogy Library at:
http://www.disknet.com/indiana_biolab/eg.htm
My personal search led me to the Eddleman (of all spelling variations)
Page. Of the two dozen or so researchers, I'm currently the only one whose
ancestors remained in PA. The others have ties (known and unknown) with PA.
After becoming "stuck" in Berks Co. in 1816, I began a PA Timeline listing
every Edelman, Edelmann and Eddleman (all used at diferent times by my known
ancestors) that I could find from their arrival in Philadelphia hoping to find
my missing link.
Because I had much information from PA that the others did not have, I am
now the volunteer editor of a PA Edelman page (not yet constructed.) Although
I have much information, I have not attempted to connect the names I have into
families. I'm simply offering my information to anyone who needs it in the
hope that they will find a connection for themselves. I will be their contact
with PA, caretaker of any info I glean from the PA lists and updating the PA
timeline for all to see.
I, at this time, am restricting my research to just the above surnames.
However, many of the others are researching multiple surnames, in multiple
states. In this regard, we may be of some assistance to you because of
relation by marriages.
My requests are two:
1. For myself: Seeking any information on parents, grandparents,
siblings, etc. of Raymond EDELMAN, s/o John and (no mother's name) Edelman, b.
July 5, 1816 in Berks Co., d. Oct. 14, 1907. Buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery,
Altoona, Blair Co.
Could this be the same man, sibling or cousin?: Rehman Edelmann, s/o
Jacob and Elisabeth Edelmann, bap. May 10, 1817 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Jonestown, Lebanon Co.
Raymond is my GG grandfather. His wife was Adaline F. Oliver, d. July 20,
1895, also buried at Oak Ridge. By 1845 he was in Blair Co. and appears to
have been married once before his marriage to Adaline due to later references
of a step-son and step-daughter in Adaline's obituary.
2. For our EDL members: Any info on any Edelmann, Edelman or Eddleman in
PA up until abt. 1850, esp. ones that left PA for other states.
Thanks, Trudi
