Good morning, Joyce. My name is Gerry Hammond. I am trying to learn about
the family of my paternal grandmother, Anna Belle (Huntington) Hammond. She
was the daughter of George Lincoln and Grace (Lane) Huntington and born in
East Smithfield 26 Jan 1894. Grace Lane was born in Indiana Dec 1863, the
dau. of Rev. William D. and Mary Amelia (Northrup) Lane, and died 1930 and is
buried somewhere in Smithfield Twp. Over the years I have gathered many facts
about the Huntington, Northrup and allied lines but have been unable to find
the ancestors of Rev. Lane. This much I do know about him:
1. Born Nov 1841 in PA (in Bradford County I suspect).
2. Resided 1880 in Independence Twp, Warren, NJ and 1900 at 6808 Frankstown
Ave., Pittsburgh (R). Both censuses confirm that his father was born in Ohio
and mother was born in Vermont. On a scrap of paper in grandma's copy of the
"Genealocial Memoir of the Huntington Family" we found the words
Lane/Danforth. I'm stuck. Any ideas where to look next?
