Damien and Susan,

There were a few mentions of Jesse as witness to some wills which I did not
include in my last message. I'll list some of them now:

Bucks County, Pennsylvania Will Abstracts, 1685-1795

03 Jan 1782, Joseph Britton and Jesse Britton witnessed will of Philip Wood
of Plumstead Twp, Yeoman.

18 Aug 1787, Joseph Brittain named executor in will of Martha Baxter of
Plumstead Twp, Widow. Witness: Jesse Britton

Also, when I looked more closely at my data base I realized that your John
Brittain is the one who T. H. Bailey in his book Bailey-Britton History and
Genealogy, published Kingsport, TN, 1962 thinks was married to Elizabeth
Vansandt. In 1789 the will of Cornelus Vansandt, Wrightstown Twp, Bucks Co,
PA named Cornelius Brittain, son of my nephew Joseph Brittain (son of John
and Elizabeth) who m. Mary Gibson in Plumstead Twp.

Nathan, son of John and Elizabeth, m. Ann, daughter of John Thomas of
Hilstown Twp, Bucks Co, PA; proved by will of John Thomas which was proved
1790 and names dau. Ann, widow of Nathan Brittain, dec'd.

Nathaniel, believed to be son of John and Elizabeth, d. ca. 1791 in Freehold
Twp, Monmouth Co, NJ. His wife Rachel and Richard Cox were named
administrators 02 Jun 1791. Rachel was dau of Samuel Jones, Sr. They had
at least three sons: Nathaniel, Jr., killed by a horse; Samuel and Timothy.
The 1790 census shows 4 sons and 6 daus (or possibly some are
grandchildren). Timothy, b. Bucks Co, PA., m. Hannah ? and had at least one
dau Margaret. He d. 23 Dec 1855, age 91 yrs, 7 mos, 5 days.

He also lists a marriage on 27 Jul 1775 in Bucks Co, PA for Mary Britton and
Robert Gibson.

William Britton, believed to be son of John and Elizabeth, m. 31 May 1746
Mary Runkin/Rankin, Philadelphia Co, PA.

I don't always agree with Mr. Bailey's connections; but the book is
certainly worth reviewing if you can find a copy at your local library.
