For Hazel and others who may have ancestors that took out land patents:
You can do a search for land patents at: http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/
Bureau of Land Management, Eastern States; General Land Office.
You can search the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois,
Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, and
Wisconsin.
This is a great site! Many of our NJ and PA families moved on to Ohio and
Illionois and beyond. This may help find where they went, and can give us an
idea of when they left PA & NJ.
