GROESBECK FAMILY
Nicholas (Claes)Jacobse Groesbeck (I), carpenter, was in Albany, N.Y.,
in 1662. On October 10th, 1696, he deposed that he was 72 years old. He
had a wife Elizabeth. His will dated January 3rd,1706, mentions among others
a son Jacob.(2)

Jacob Claeson Groesbeck (2) was born in Amsterdam, on September 29th, 1674.
He married Anna Vandergrift in the Reformed Dutch Church.

They were witnesses at the baptism of Rebecca, daughter of Daniel Veenos
and Christina Jacobs on April 13th, 1690. In 1697 Leonard, Nicholas, Frederick
and Johannes Vandergrift, Berent Verkirk (who had married their sister
Rachel) and Jacob Claesszen Groesbeck, purchased adjoining lands in Bucks
County, Pennsylvania. Whether Groesbeck settled on this land is not known,
but no record of his will or administration is found in the Bucks County
records. His children were:
Rebecca, baptized June 23rd, 1675.
Elizabeth, baptized September 4th, 1677.
Dina (Leah), baptized February 11th, 1680, married Johannes Vansant in
1702.
Rachel, baptized November 21st, 1682 married Thomas Biddle in 1702.
Johanna, Baptized August 9th, 1685.
