Jon,
I do have Thomas SMITH and Sarah TOWNSEND in my file, as this Thomas SMITH
is my 7g-uncle.
Note that the TOWNSEND family that the Sarah you were looking for I can
also claim as a aunt. This TOWNSEND family is however different that the
TOWNSEND family connected to the JAMES family from what I have been able
to find so far. The JAEMS-TOWNSEND family was from Long Island orig. The
SMITH-TOWNSEND family from from Kent Co, Delaware, before the founding
of Pennsylvania, so at the time of Lord Baltimore or earlier (am not really
familiar with that early history).
As I will be doing research in the area next month, have added this to
my "to do" list.
Take care!
David Eyre
