My husband's great great grandmother who we all referred to as Grammy Greaves
was the daughter of Harper Roberts Harding and Sarah Ann Krewson.
Sarah Ann Krewson was born January 27, 1839 in PA and died February 20, 1917
in Richboro, Bucks Co., PA(she's buried with her husband and his parents at
Union Cemetery in Richboro, Bucks Co., PA). Now according to the Kirk family
book(this is from the Harding side) Sarah's parents were Israel Krewson and Sarah
Sager. On the 1850 and 1860 Census for Northampton Twp., Bucks Co., PA Sarah
Ann is living with Howard K. Sagers 42 yrs. and Sarah 47yrs.(this Sarah Sager
being the daughter of Jacob Vanartsdalen and Jemima Hicks, her middle initial
is B. and she's buried at Old Reform Cemetery in Feasterville, Bucks Co., PA,
after her death Howard apparently married a woman named Lucretia), on the 1850
Northampton Twp., Bucks Co., PA Census there is an Israel Krewson
45yrs(Shoemaker) living with a Rebecca Sagers 63yrs(it seems by the rest of this family
list that Sagers is not her last name, her name is probably being written
Rebecca Sagers Krewson, but I am not positive) Julia Ann S. 16yrs, Louisa " 14yrs(I
know for a fact that Sarah Ann Krewson had a sister named Louisa who's buried
at Wrightstown Friends Cemetery), Henry V. " 10 yrs.(I know for a fact that
Sarah Ann Krewson had a brother named Harry V. who served in the Civil War and
is also buried with his wife Harriet Randall at Wrightstown Friends Cemetery),
Rebecca S. " 8yrs.(I know for a fact that Sarah Ann Krewson had a sister
Rebecca Sagers Krewson who married Peter Hogeland Sept. 11, 1863), William Krewson
20yrs(Shoemaker), and George Ottison 43yrs.(Shoemaker). In 1870 Israel
Krewson is found living in the house of Peter and Rebecca Hogeland in Northampton
Twp., Bucks Co., PA. I can not find him on the 1860 census. I found Israel
Krewson living in Northampton Twp., Bucks Co., PA on the 1850 and 1851 taxes, he
was living on the property of Wm. Bennett in Northampton Twp., Bucks Co., PA.
Henry V. Krewson's obit listed him as being Henry Z. the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Israel Krewson. Sarah Ann Krewson Harding's obit lists her as being the daughter
of Israel B. and Louisa Ann Krewson (what? I am going crazy here, was this a
mistake or is this what her mother's name was and they have her mother wrong in
the Kirk Family Book, and who is that Rebecca Sagers aged 63yrs. on the 1850
census with Israel?), her obit also lists a cousin the Rev. J.B. Krewson of
Forest Grove Church(he is buried at the church cemetery in Forest Grove, Bucks
Co., PA), (I probably should point our that her obit does have her brother's
middle intial as S. and her sister Rebecca's last name as Hodeland so I guess it
is possible that the person taking/giving the info for the newspaper
understood her mother's name wrong?) I found on the LDS site someone submitted Israel
P. Krewson born 1804 of Readington,,,New Jersey, death 1889 son of Garret
Krewson and Hannah Jackson, does anyone know anything about this Garret Krewson
who married Hannah Jackson, is it possible that this is my Israel (I have found
tons of incorrect info on the LDS site in the past). Anyway, if anyone could
please help me, this has to be one of, if not thee biggest and most confusing
brick wall I have. It seems the more info I find the more questions I have.
Please if you know anything or can atleast give me some tips on where else to
search for this family contact me! Thanks in advance!
