Hoping that some kind list member will know more about this GARES family --
or have access to references that help me trace their descendants. Spelling
variations for the surname vary - GERES, GERETS, GARIS, GARRIS, GEHRIS and
GEHRES are most common other than GARES.

I believe that Mary was Frederick's 2nd wife (because of reference to
step-mother in will abstract quoted below). His first wife was Catherine, I
think - but I have no maiden names for either of them. I am anxious to trace
the families of each of the Frederick's descendants -- who they married,
where they lived, etc. I am especially interested in Samuel, who may be my
gr-gr-grandfather, but there are other Samuel GARES babies in the same area
at the same time, so I'm working on eliminating other possibilities til I
find him. Children named in father Fredericks' will include:
(1) Elizabeth
(2) Madelina
(3) Susanna
(4) Mary
(5) Samuel
(6) John
(7) Jenna or Lenna or Tenna (hard to read so not sure about this one)

[Source for above: From Abstracts of Bucks County, Pennsylvania Wills,
1785-1825; Publishers: Family Line Publications, 1998: "Will Book 10, page
233. Frederick Gares, Bedminster Twp., Farmer. May 25, 1820. Proved Oct.
8, 1823. Jacob Kramer Jr. exr. Wife Mary. Dau. Lenna (or Tenna or Jenna) to
live with her step-mother. Ch. Elizabeth, Catharine, Madelina, Susanna,
Mary, Samuel, John and Jenna. Wits: John Hart and William McNeeley." ]

Your help is very much appreciated -- I have info to share on the
descendants of the Samuel GARES who married Louisa PHILE.. but am stuck
trying to figure out who their parents and siblings were....
Thanks,
Kaye Steward
