I was just thru Johnstown yesterday, stopped at the library, and found some
obits for those hard to pin down ancestors, and as luck has it, two of them
died in the fall of 1894.

I am particularly interested in Isaac H Settlemyer of Coopersdale. His obit
was at the top of page one of the Johnstown Tribune (the other paper, the
two now merged in the Tribune-Democrat), described as a prominent citizen,
and a member of four different lodges (Odd Fellows [IOOF], Golden Eagles, a
trade guild, and one other). This make me believe that at age 38 he might
have been in management at the steel mill where he worked.
Problem is, the obit stated "he was born in 1856, in Wilmore, this county,
and moved to Johnstown with his parents when but still a small boy" BUT WHO
ARE THE PARENTS!!! Now that I know the date of death, I'm going to send for
a death certificate, but there's a good chance he could be listed in a book
like this, and if it's like others I've seen, it could list several
generations of ancestors.

If anyone else on the list has better info than this on Isaac (I know that
several of you have the same that I had before the obit), I would
appreciate your help.

Thanks
