Just curious:
My great grandmother, Sophia Elizabeth MITCHELL EDMISTON KAUFFMAN and her
second husband Joseph Scidman KAUFFMAN moved to Chenango Co, NY, in the mid
1940's from W. Taylor Twp, Cambria Co, PA. My Dad said it was because some
friends had moved there and were doing better financially than they had in PA.
Coincidentally, there were a number of CUSTER families nearby in Chenango Co.
I was wondering if any of you CUSTER researchers had recent ancestors move up
here to NY? Also, they pronounced it "cooster".
Just call me nosy!!
