Hello,

I am hoping that perhaps someone here has some
information available on any of these families.

Thomas KAY, born ca. 1855 in England, and Mary Ann BURN*,
born ca. 1856 in England, lived in Rush Township (North Precinct),
Centre County, PA. at the time of the 1920 Federal Census. Both
immigrated to the U.S. in 1880 from England. Their children
included Ira, Robert, Christopher, Helen and Elizabeth (my great-
grandmother). They were retired at the time of immigration. At
this time, both Ira and Robert were listed as being coal miners,
while Christopher was listed as a laborer and Helen was a photographer.
*some have it spelled as BURNS

Ira KAY , born October 22, 1893 in Shenandoah, PA, died
on February 25, 1969. Services were held at Dahlgren Funeral Home,
Philipsburg, Pa. Rev. Harvey Knudson officiated. He was buried in
Philipsburg Cemetery.

Christopher KAY, (last known address had been 113 Loch
Lomond Rd., N. Philipsburg, Centre County,PA.), died in 1966
of a heart attack. He was a dealer for Purity Milk dairy. He was a
member of St. Paul Episcopal Church and was the son of Thomas
and Mary Ann Oversby. He was born in Munson, PA. and married
Betty Kling Gesewhite on July 4, 1947. He was at one time in the
Salvation Army band.

Robert KAY was born in PA. on September 17, 1900.

Helen KAY BARTLEY was born in PA. on March 30, 1898. She
died in the state of Washington in January, 1968.

Elizabeth KAY OVERSBY was born in England on July 6, 1883. She
immigrated from England to the U.S. when she was 12 years old in 1895.
She died in East Meadow, Long Island, NY in March, 1976. She
married Alfred OVERSBY, who also was born in England, ca. 1876.
Alfred OVERSBY immigrated to the U.S. in 1888, with his mother
Sarah OVERSBY. Their children included Annie Elizabeth
(my grandmother), Thomas, May, George and Dorothy. In the 1910
Federal Census, Alfred and Elizabeth OVERSBY lived in Summerhill
Township, Cambria County, PA. He was a coal miner then. At that time,
two of their children, Annie E. (my grandmother), born December 22, 1908,
and Sara, born ca. 1907, were listed there. In the 1920 Federal Census, though
Elizabeth OVERSBY is still listed as being married, not divorced or widowed,
Alfred OVERSBY is not listed with her or her children. She is now living with
her parents and siblings in Rush Township (North Precinct), Centre
County, PA. With her are her children: Annie, Thomas, May, George and Helen.

Thomas OVERSBY was born on February 23, 1911 in PA. He died on
April 29, 1997.

May OVERSBY was born circa 1913 in PA.

George OVERSBY was born on August 31, 1915 in PA. He died on May 12,
1992.

Dorothy OVERSBY was born in PA. on May 7, 1917 and died on May 7, 1998.

Robert Lawrence BANEY, my grandfather, was born in Rossiter, Indiana
County, PA.
on May 24, 1906. He lived in South Philipsburg, PA. for most of his life.
He married
Annie Elizabeth OVERSBY, who was born in Dunlo, Cambria County, PA. She was
born on December 22, 1908. They had three daughters: Dorothy Jean, Louise
and Janet
Eva. His siblings included Mahlon and Samuel M. Later on in life, Mahlon
and Samuel
changed their surname spelling to BAINEY.

Samuel M. BAINEY was in WWI stationed at least part of the time in Camp
Hancock, Augusta, Georgia.

Mahlon BAINEY was born in Rossiter, Indiana County, PA.

Robert BANEY's parents were Theodore BANEY and Eva M. TURNER BANEY.
Theodore BANEY was born circa 1868 in PA. In both the 1870 and 1880 Federal
Censuses, Theodore BANEY lived with his parents, William and Hannah E.
BANEY, in Boggs Township (Milesburg Post Office), Centre County, PA.
Theodore's siblings were: John (born ca. 1871) and Harry and Annie
(born ca. 1875; these two were twins).William BANEY was listed as both
a laborer and a collier in the censuses.

Eva M. TURNER's parents were Vance and Mattie TURNER. Vance TURNER was
Born ca. 1853 in PA., while Mattie TURNER was born in PA ca. 1854. Their
child-
ren included Anna M.(born approx. 1875), Eva M. (born May 9, 1874) and
William E.
(born approx. 1879). In the 1880 Federal Census, Vance and Mattie TURNER lived
in Huston Township, PA.

In the 1920 Federal Census, both Theodore and Eva M. TURNER BANEY were
living in South Philipsburg Borough (106 Walnut Street), Centre County, PA.
Theodore BANEY was a mechanic for the coal mines in the area. Theodore's
and Eva's children, in 1920, were listed as Robert (my grandfather) and Donald
(written as Donaldine in the census). Donald was born ca. 1901. He was 19 at
the time of the 1920 Census and already a widower with a 9 month old daughter,
Atabell, at the time. Eva M. TURNER BANEY was supposedly had a farm at
the time of her death. She died on November 17. 1957. Her funeral was at
Leavy's
Funeral Home. She was laid out in Clearfield, PA. Rev. Joseph T. Arnold,
from Unionville, PA., and Rev. William Starr, from Woodland, PA.,
officiated. She
was buried in Philipsburg Cemetery.

Also, I am looking for information on Agnes Elizabeth STEPHENS, born
September 18, 1890. She died May, 1961. Her funeral was at Leavy's Funeral
Home with the Rev. Finley Harket officiating. She was buried at Bradford
Cemetery.

Thank you.
