In response to the message concerning records available at Cambria County
Courthouse, I believe that the records for years prior to 1893 were destroyed in
a fire. Records should be available there for the years 1893 through 1905. For
1906 onward the records should be obtained from:

Division of Vital Records
State Department of Health
Central Building
101 S. Mercer St.
PO Box 1528
New Castle, PA 16103
(412)656-3100

This information was obtained in 1997, please confirm with the county/state as
required.

An alternative recomendation for information destroyed was to request estate
records available from 1808 from:

Register of Wills Office
PO Box 298
Edensburg, PA 15931

I am interested in birth and marriage records for Cambria County prior to 1893.
Does anyone have other alternatives?
