To whoever can help, I am looking for any information on St. John
Gualbert's Cemetery in Richland Township. Is there also a St. John
Gualbert's church at the site of this cemetery? This information is taken
directly from the original reciept that my great grandmother recieved from
the cemetery when she purchased 1/2 lot of 4 graves in 1953.
The other information that I have from an original receipt document is from
the Berkebile, Gabriell and Sons Inc. who at that time did the engraving on
the headstones. On this document the cemetery is listed as St. Johns of
Geistown.
The family name I am looking for is GOLEC. There are 4 people buried at this
site. Husband, wife, a son and a daughter. The monument is rather large and
maybe the largest one in the cemetery. The son was killed in a military
flight training operation. He had an honerable discharge.
Is it possible that the name of the cemetery was changed?
I have already searched the cambria county web site cemetery listing and
cannot find this name in the St. John cemeteries that are listed. I also
searched the Polish cemetery in that listing. This family was Polish and
Catholic.
If anyone can provide information on this cemetery such as an address or
phone number. If would be greatly appreciated. If you can provide a street
name, I can find it on my Johnstown map that I have.
Thank you ahead of time.
Sharon
