I have another question to ask. From my father's (George Oscar Risher) diary
he writes that he had to go down to the East End ball field to play
pinochle. It was summer and the gang (Heidorn cousins) were meeting there to
play cards. He added that since no one had money it was a good way to spend
the afternoon.

Can anyone tell me more about this? I am assuming this East End baseball
park was the one built along Solomon Run in Walnut Grove. I will add that
when I assume I am usually in error. But why would anyone go to the ball
park to play cards?
