Subject: [PaCambri] Fisher vs Bartlebaugh lawsuit land and sawmill of a Boring
Date: Sun, 12 Jan 2003 21:34:13 +0100
I have started to put together my material for my next project --an unknown Bartlebaugh connection to our family, Abraham Bartlebaugh.
He first appeared in the 1830 census for Indiana County but 1840 he is in Cambria Co. This was transcribed from my scan of the court case. Blanks are unreadable parts but this is the best interpretation I have seen of this. Still don't understand what it is all about. Any of you Fishers out know of this land problem. Looks like the deceased Samuel Fisher either sold or gave this land to Abraham Bartlebaugh who just appeared out of thin air in 1830.
Abraham Bartlebaugh'a daughter Savannah married John G Westover. Two things makes me think he could be from our family is that later generation name a daughter Savannah
Jennie Westover married Nathan Ross. Isaiah's son's Columbus and Cornelius married Ross girls and then a Huey grandson was pall bearer at the funeral of John G Westover.
No idea where Abraham came from but figure he was born about 1811 and no idea when he died but probably before 1900 in Cambria Co.
