Hello List,
I was looking at a reference book at he library inLilly the other day and
thought I'd pass along the name and publisher of it since it may help some of
you.
It is called Women of Cambria County: Their Work, Their History, Their
Contribution 1770-1987. By the Johnstown Branch American Association of
University Women. Published by The A.G. Halldin Publishing Company, Indiana
, Pennsylvania, copyright 1988

There are too many names in it to list right now, but I did want to let you
all know about it and some of its content. It has some lifestyle stories in
it: Coal miner's wife, Woman's life on the farm, railroaders wife, wife of a
steel mill laborer, and the teacher in the one room school room.

The next section deals with specific locations in Cambria County and "some
women who there". An couple of examples are: Stoneycreek Township (Rachel
Adams), and Geistown (Geis, Nees, Henrich, Karcher-Karr-Ruth).

Some of you who are researching may find an ancestor or two, because some of
the names I have seen listed on this county list---besides it is just
interesting to read some of the profiles and place them in historical
context.

So, I guess that is it! Deb
