Subject: Oscar Handlin's book "The Uprooted" about emigrants

I remembered the name of that book. It is the single best evocation of
the emotional wrench of emigration I have ever read. He won a Pulitzer Prize
for it. You will never view emigrants the same way after you read it.
It comes in paperback, and also you can get it at the library or on
interlibrary loan.
