I believe I mentioned once before that I used to do research for money.
I stopped because it took so long and I never felt comfortable charging for
time when I might not have found what someone wanted, or even worse,
contradicted what they wanted.
I found it much better to share and try to help others. I have received
so much in return that way, things I wanted, but never thought I would find,
as well as what I have requested. I have so many old obits, and when I can, I
print them. I get many replies that say this is just what someone wanted, and
they fill in the details.
Almost anyone knows a lot about their main line, but often different
parts of the family know different things, or collateral relatives can provide the
information for your direct ancestors. For those who like to quote
scripture, "Cast your bread upon the waters and it shall be returned hundredfold."
