I thought I should also clarify on the Mary Magdalene Noel reference to
being born in America PA that I made in my earlier email. 1850 Census
lists her birthplace as PA. 1860 lists as Prussia. In 1880 her daughter
Matilda Hahn lists her mother's birthplace as Saxe-Weimer. Ledoux Vol III
at the baptism of her daughter Martha lists her as a native of Massweiler,
Breslau, Prussia.
Breslau is now known as Wroclaw. It is a major city in the area of Salecia
in Poland.

However Massweiler (I don't know where it is.) seems to be a name from the
area of Baden, the state along the Rhein, east of France, which is a long way
from Breslau. There are many towns in Baden that end in "weiler" and "weier",
which is why I suggest Baden.

If I were you, I would check the Meyers Ort book. Most Family History
Libraries have it on Microfilm at the libraries because it is used so often. I
believe this gazateer was done before WW I and does not have the new names, making
older names easier to find.

Hope this helps you locate your roots in Europe. Happy hunting.
