TWO FORMER CAMBRIANS DEAD.
Joseph Luther, who was born in Carroll Township, this County, but for the past thirty-six years had been in the employ of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company at Altoona, died at his home near that city, on Tuesday. He remains were interred at Carrolltown yesterday. He is survived by his wife, one brother, five sisters and six children. His--Levi--and two sisters--Mary and Sara Luther--all reside at Carrolltown. Two other sisters--Mrs. John Bearer and Mrs. Ellen Weakland--also live in Cambria County, and the other one--Mrs. Catherine Wible--lives in Altoona.
Mrs. Eliza Harrity, relict [widow] of Daniel Harrity, died at the home of her son, in Altoona, on Monday evening. Mrs. Harrity was born at Loretto, this county, but married Mr. Harrity and removed to Blair County in 1844. At the time of her death she was about seventy-four years of age. Five of her seven children survive, as follows: John, Charles, Samuel, Michael, and Albert, all of Altoona.
Note: They probably copied this from the Altoona paper, a common practice then.
What family does Mr. Joseph Luther belong to, and what were the names of his children? Listing the names of the siblings, and ignoring the children, was also common in obituaries then. What were the first names of his sisters, or their husbands?
Who was Mrs. Eliza Harrity?
