Carrolltown, June 4 – Valentine Thomas, aged 81 years of this place, died yesterday about 2:30 o’clock of a complication of diseases. He was well known in this vicinity, having followed the blacksmith trade here. Valentine Thomas was born in St. Lawrence, Cambria County, July 30, 1839. His wife is dead, but he is survived by the following children; Frank J. Thomas and Valentine Thomas, Jr, both of New Castle, Ind; August A. Thomas, Pittsburgh; C. J. Thomas, of Carrolltown; Sister Magdalene of St. Joseph’s Convent, Silver City, NM; Mrs. William Roach, of Sarnia Canada; Mrs. H. J . Waltz and Mrs. E. M. Blum of Carrolltown. The funeral will be held Friday morning with services at St. Benedict’s Church, where a high mass of requiem will be said at 9 o’clock. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
