Black, (Blose) Sarah

Mrs. Thomas Black 1900

Mrs Thomas Black died at her home in Blairsville, on Monday evening March 5
at the age of about 83 years. Her death was the result of serious burns
sustained some time ago. She was a native of Saltsburg having lived there
all her life until about a year ago when she with her husband removed to
Blairsville. She had since resided with her daughter Mrs George Rager.
Besides her husband the deceased is survived by eight children. The funeral
services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2. Interment was made in
Blairsville Cemetery

Black, Charles, Walter

Charles W Black retired mine worker, House 102, Brenizer, passed away, April
28 in the Indiana Hospital. He was born April 5, 1880 in Nowrytown, a son of
Barney B and Julia A (Long) Black both deceased.

Mr Black was a member of the Free Methodist church, Blairsville and a member
of U. M. W. A. Union No. 5744.

His wife, Lula P preceded him in death, March 19, 1952.

Surviving are five daughters:

Mrs June Nonneberger, Jernyn, PA

Mrs Clarice Shotto, Endicott, N. Y.

Mrs Ethel Gower, Jefferson, PA

Mrs Betty Prola, Freeport, PA

Mrs Ruth Cadravec, Clarksburg.

Three sons also survive:

Walter, Revloc

Merle, Waynesburg

Ernest, Pittsburgh

one sister, Mrs Sarah Eales, Tarentum, PA and two grandchildren and one
great grandchild.

Friends will be received at his late home until Saturday at 10 a. m.

Services at the Ferguson Funeral Home, Saturday April 30, at 2:30 p. m. the
Reverend Ralph L Page. of the Free Methodist Church will officiate.
Interment will be in Blairsville cemetery.

Born in Westmoreland Co. May 22, 1779 died in Connemaugh Twp. of cold and
exposure June 27, 1854, farmer, buried in Ebenezer Cemetery.
