Sandra, Carol, Beth, and List; This is a rush job and not a finished
research report. It's intended to get the direction of my research out
.Final report with sources will follow later.

Her mother was Margaret (Glass)
Kirk/Kirkpatrick (24 May 1844-15 May 1870) who died probably from
complications during or after the birth of Margaret in May 1870. In the St
Benedict, Carrolltown Death Register, the recording priest assumed she was
the same age as her husband, i.e.29, and so recorded it, not realizing
that it should more accurately have been 26 or 27.
Margaret Glass was the first wife of Augustine Kirkpatrick 3 (James 2 and
Mary Ann Luther; Archibald 1 and Margaret _____) (4 March 1841-15 May
1920). She was born 24 May 1844 in Greene Twp., Indiana County the daughter
of John Glass 2 (Christopher Glass 1 and Margaret _____), ( May 1814-12
January 1891)and his first of three wives, Mary Downey ( ca. 1821-1854/5),
by whom he had at least eight children including Margaret. The John Glass
family was a member of St Patrick Catholic parish, Cameron's Bottom, Pine
Twp., Indiana County. Margaret was baptized there on 7 July 1844 by Rev.
Fr. Andrew P. Gibbs on his pastoral visit there.

By 1861 both parents of John Glass as well as his second wife, Rebecca
(Gibson), had died and John, now a widower, with his family, including
Margaret, moved to Cambria County where John rented the house built by Fr.
Peter H. Lemke at Hart's Sleeping Place, Susquehanna Twp. On 23 November
1863 He married his third wife, Elizabeth (Davis)
Finton/Finten/Fenton/Flinton, the widow of Jeremiah Fenton who had died
under tragic circumstances on 23 June 1856.
Two months later, on 31 January 1864 his daughter, Margaret, married as
the first of his four wives Augustine Kirkpatrick. They had four children:
Mary E.; Susanna Martina; William; and Margaret. The first three were given
names of Margaret's sisters and brother, the last in memory of her mother.
At the baptism of Mary E., Margaret's sister Eliza Glass was the Godmother
and at William's baptism, Magaret's sister Martha Glass was his Godmother.
Martha's name in the 1860 Census of Pine Twp., Indiana County was listed.
as " Martinie". After the death of their mother Mary E. was residing in the
household of Augustine's brother Jacob Kirkpatrick in Chest Township,
Cambria Co.,
William in the household of Augustine's brother, Archibald also in Chest
Twp. and, Margaret in the household of Augustine's sister, Margaret,
married to Philip Huber/Hoover in Carroll Twp. I could not find either
Augustine or his daughter Susanna Martina in the 1870 Census.

Sincerely,

Kirk
