Born to Earl W. Jones and wife of Wilmington, North Carolina, their first son. Earl is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. Jones of
Ebensburg and is employed on the Atlantic Coast Gulf Railroad.

MARRIAGES



Engaged Before Civil
War; Just Married

Stamford, Conn., May 12

Miss Emily Brown, for upward of forty years a
school teacher here, has finally been married to Norman Provost after a
courtship that began before the Civil War. Miss Brown and Mr. Provost were
sweethearts when the war broke out. Mr.
Provost enlisted in the Sixth Connecticut regiment and served with distinction.

Miss Brown took a course of training and was
appointed teacher in a Stamford public school. She
remained in the school until recently when she resigned. During all the years she and Mr. Provost were
engaged.



Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Kunkle, prominent
residents of Coopersdale, Johnstown, recently entertained about eighty guests in celebration of the
twenty-fifth anniversary of their marriage.
