Hello Cuz!!! Thanks for all the wonderful information. Thanks especially
for putting a framework around the gaps in my feeble memory(at 53)
concerning the Nicklers. I had totally forgotten that Tom went by Pat too.
And now that you make the connection, I do indeed remember you, from times
spent at your house or in the neighborhood(bicycle riding for example).
Like Pat and OK Metz , I too have spent my career(except for the Air Force)
in education. I have been a teacher or administrator since 1968. Most of
that time, including the last 17 years I have worked with handicapped kids.
I am currently the Principal/Executive Director of a large self-contained
school in Greensboro, North Carolina. Gateway Education Center serves
multi-disabled children and young adults from birth to age 22. I am one of
those rare and truly fortunate people who got to do what he loves in life.
My wife of 32 years, Sue, is a high school teacher. Daughter Jessica is
completing a graduate degree and son Aaron works for a music company and
plays in local bands. We have lived in Carolina since 1973. My Dad was
killed in 1990, just after retiring, in a motorcycle accident. My
stepmother lives in Spencerport, New York. where my two younger brothers
live also. You are exactly right when you say that the net has been very
special in bringing folks together. The Nicklers were such an important
part of my life for so long that I want to thank you for bringing them
back! After all, Uncle Adam was the man who taught me to pee from a tractor
without messing up your plowing.....down wind was better of course! Love
and best to you all. Would love to have more "Nickler News" when you get to
it. Again, many thanks......Dale
