Walt,
Thanks for asking, but I don't think that Frederick is part of my Shaffer
family (although from his obit, I admit he does sound a bit like some of
them! :~)).
There were 2 Shaffer families in the Sinnemahoning area in the early 1800s.
I believe one was descended from Frederick Shaffer who fought in the Rev.
War from PA and the other descended from James Shaffer b. 1788 in NJ (came
to PA in 1802). My line is James.
