HI Folks!

I just returned from my week stay in Emporium! (I am contemplating moving
back home and have Mom cook for me! LOL) I had an awesome time. It sure
was beautiful. I am sorry that I did not get a chance to take more photos
to post on Zing.com. I only accomplished a fraction of what I wanted to
while I was there.

I got to meet Donna Gigliotti and chat with Pete Bennett and Shirley
Wiggins. I talked with many folks who have visited the site. I made a
brochure and got a bunch printed that told about the site....I left them all
around town. I hope to see some more folks online soon.

The folks at the courthouse are very friendly, but they are not familiar
with what information is there. I was not able to find much on my GORE line
in Driftwood which was my main project while I was there. I spent some time
in the McKean County Courthouse. They have the tax records for Shippen
Township for 1858-1860. They are neat if you have relatives in Shippen. I
forgot to check to see if they had the Borough of Emporium listed
separately. The books are in the basement if you are going there....no one
there was aware that parts of Cameron County were in McKean back then!!!
