Boy Bernie, did you bring up a memory with West Ward! Not only did I attend
6th grade there in 1957-58, but Bessie Almeda VanWert Metz, my Grandmother
graduated from there in 1913. I loved that building. The town kids were
lucky often because we got to walk home for lunch. I went to either my Aunt
Ellen's(Ellen Nickler Lyons) right across the street from West Ward or Aunt
Helen Metz's(Bert's family) on Fifth Street. Does anyone recall a building
in that general area of Emporium(may have been a church) that I might have
gone to kindergarten/first grade in. I have tried to recollect what it was
but can't find any facts. Thanks for the jog, Bernie! Dale
