Hi guys! Where is Williamsburg, Pennsylvania? I've been trying to track one
of my great uncle, Uncle Martin. How I tracked him / found him... well 1st
an obit of his mother Mrs. Charles Hout dated January 1901 says "Martin,
Ashland, Wis.," and the rest of Emporium. Then... Martin sister's obit
(Catherine DeCoursey, May 1920) still says, Wisconsin. So he lives in
Ashland... then his brother Michael S. Hout obit dated April 1928 says
Seattle Washington. I tracked him and his family via census both Ashland
and Seattle. Both cities, they were there, and birthplace listed is
Pennsylvania. Here is where I get Williamsburg. I contacted Northern
Wisconsin Archives in Ashland, Wisconsin and on one of the marriage cert. Of
Martin and Catherine son frank... says Frank was born in Williamsburg,
Pennsylvania. ?!
The Census from Ashland, Wis says Martin was born in 1861 but the Cameron
County one says 1856, the Seattle 1930 census gives his age of 72. This
gives you 1858. WHAT THE HELL! Yes there are several Martin Houts.. But
only one from Pennsylvania. All census says he was born in Pennsylvania.
Then I came across an obit of a Eva Maria Hout, dated Oct 6, 1950 in
Bremerton, Washington. says she was born in Emporium, Pa on Feb. 11th 1883.
I can't find this anywhere... St. Marks or anywhere. Why?!
Anyone help me or give me clues? What do I do? Do I take this family in as
mine? I've done so much research on this family and entered it all in to my
family tree maker. But then I still have that obit of Eva from Washington.
