Alice Crapster has a lot of information on the Doll family including a ton of photos. She lives in FL but comes to Emporium during the summer.

Thank you! How did I miss that?
I have a copy of the Cameron County Press, dated July 23, 1942, in which it
tells how Emma Doll Whitmer and her border from her home on Doll Hill, were
swept away in the flood water. Emma was trying to get to her son's home.
She heard his home was in the path of the raging Portage flood water. She
prevailed upon her border Lynn Middaugh, to go with her. They tried to
cross the Portage to Salt Run (near Andrews' farm) when the water rose.
Two men, Gene Alden and Josh Starr tried to assist them with a rope. Emma
Doll Whitimer was swept away and Lynn Middaugh jumped in to save her.
Emma's body was found a few days later, but it states Lynn's had not been
found, at least at that date. Anyway, I wanted to put flowers on Emma's
grave. I will do that today. I have always loved the name of Doll Hill.
I wonder if her son is still living? I am going to try to find out. It says
the son's name was Haskins. Was Mrs. Doll married a second time? Why the
different last name? Well, it wasn't so long ago, so it shouldn't be so
difficult to find out. Some of you may even remember the incident.

Thanks for your help!
Bernie
