Well, I do find a lot of discrepancy in some of the dates, esp. the
birthdates in the censuses. However, if you search enough, you can pretty
well piece everything together or at least have a close timeline of events
and ages. My aunt insists my great great grandfather lived to be 117 yrs.
old back in the 1800's. I find that pretty hard to believe although
according to a few documents it does show that to be his age at death.
However, I also found a few with his birth at a later date, which would make
his age to be in his 90's which I found much more of a probability. I also
found a family tree with a lot of mistakes in it, but can't contact the
person to correct it. Still, I found lots and lots of things that were
accurate or fairly accurate and fit nicely into the puzzle. Now my problem
is I need to search over seas and have to join something more for that.
What are your experiences with ancestry.com?
