Hello,

Since this list is relatively new, I thought I should introduce a few of my

family names. My mother was from Coaldale and my father was from
Lansford. Some of the names I am researching are YURKOVIC,
HUDECEK, SHIGO/CSAJKA, BALIK (SMITH) ,DAVIDSON, MERRICK,
JEFFRIES/JEFFREYS, DAVIS, POBST/BOBST, GARDINER, and
PATERSON/PATTERSON. The Merrick's and Pobst's seemed to have
a long history in Mauch Chunk, now Jim Thorpe. Is anyone else
researching any of these names from the Carbon area?
