Klotz, Christian, son of John and Franconia (Knouse) Klotz, born in 1789
and about the year of 1814, left his native township, Lowhill and soon
arrived in Mahoning township, Carbon County. Here in 1816 he married
Elizabeth McDaniel, d/o Robert and Elizabeth (Hicks) McDaniel, a
Quakeress. Among their children was Robert.
Robert, second so of Christian, was born in Northampton now Carbon
County, Oct 27, 1819. At age 24 he was elected the 1st register and
recorder of Carbon county. In 1846 he enlisted for the Mexican War, as a
Lt of Company K., 2nd PA, and afterwards made an adjutant of same Regt.
serving under Col. John Geary. He married in 1849 to Sallie A. Lentz,
d/o Col. John and Mary (Loser) Lentz of Carbon County. One child, Lentz
Edmund, married Emma E. Laubach, d/o Hon. Joseph Laubach of Bethlehem
and resides in Mauch Chunk.
